Welcome to the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Partnership (WEEEP) information site. This site has been developed to offer information and a full waste management solution to all business.

Since August 2004 the WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive has been introduced in to UK law. To summarise the Directive; all manufactures, distributors and end users will have to safely and environmental dispose of all IT equipment when the have no use for the equipment.

The Directive is now ticking and will become law in June 2007. There is a 24 month grace period from 2004, due to delays. We are encouraging companies to implement changes now. The State Street Bank, Synstar, OKI, Burnside Properties, Global Communication Solutions and FedEx have taken the WEEEP solution.

Our aim to to Repair, Reuse, Reduce and Recycle all equipment.

One of the programs is to assist Edinburgh and Lothian's charity to help local people from the community to break the digital divide, and help teach and train people to fix and repair computers. Local people get to take home computer systems to help children with homework and adults with life long learning and at the same time not dumping redundant computer equipment.
